THE Geelong Football Club has announced Geelong Mums co-founder and local businesswoman Kate Betts as the club’s newest director.

Cats president Craig Drummond said the Club was excited by Kate’s leadership experience and her longstanding commitment to the Geelong community.

“Not only is Kate herself a passionate Geelong person, but she is passionate about supporting and advancing all Geelong people,” Mr Drummond said.

“Kate’s advocacy of, and dedication to, the Geelong community has seen her spark action, lead change, and always demonstrate the service mindset that we aspire to emulate.”

A Geelong local and passionate Cats supporter, Ms Betts co-founded the charity Geelong Mums and is a past vice-chair of St Kilda Mums Inc and the Geelong Community Foundation.

Ms Betts currently serves on the Board of the Geelong Cats Foundation.

“Having served as Director on the Geelong Cats Foundation Board, Kate has already contributed enormously to the ongoing success of our Club,” Mr Drummond said.

“We thank her for that contribution and are delighted at the prospect of its expansion in her new capacity as director.

“We look forward to seeing more of Kate’s progressive thinking, signature care, and unique human magic.”

Betts joins Drummond, vice president Diana Taylor and directors Barry Fagg, Grant McCabe, Lyndsay Sharp, Kate Spargo, and James Sutherland.

Dr Hugh Seward stepped away from the Geelong’s Board following a twelve-year tenure and more than four decades of service to the Club.
