PREPARATIONS for the Geelong Mums Mother’s Day Lunch are off to a flying start, with all tickets sold out for the ten-year anniversary event in just under five minutes.

Tickets went online for the annual fundraiser last Wednesday, and thanks to a huge community response, the 500 plus tickets were snatched up in record time, giving the Geelong Mums organisation a major boost before the event.

The Geelong Mums Mother’s Day Lunch has already sold out.

The fundraising event, at Mt Duneed Estate on Friday, May 12, will allow the community to come together to help Geelong Mums continue to provide for the 6,000 babies and children in the Geelong region each year.

As part of the event, attendees will be wined and dined to a three-course lunch, entertained by DJ and musician Mike Snell and hear from TV presenter Jacquie Felgate who will be the event MC.

Head of Operations and Impact at Geelong Mums, Julia Roache said the organisation was hopeful of raising $250,000 during the event through ticket sales, fundraising raffles and silent auction items.

Geelong Mums are celebrating their tenth anniversary with their biggest event to date.

“We are so excited to be celebrating 10 years of Geelong Mums and to be doing it at our biggest fundraising event is just fantastic,” Roache said.

“For it to sell out in five minutes is crazy and we’ve had so many businesses jump on board to support us, it’s blown us away.

“The event provides a great opportunity for us to cover some of these operational costs that we incur, so we can continue to support the thousands and thousands of babies each year in Geelong.”

The 2023 event will include a three-course lunch and live entertainment.

Roache said that an event raffle has already attracted over $15,000 worth of prizes, while the silent auction is already valued at $13,000.

The raffle is set to be online in the coming fortnight and is open to event guests and the general public who are keen to support the cause.
