Geelong RRC to put temporary stop on certain products
GEELONG’s Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) will soon stop accepting garden organics, soil and rubble to allow part of the facility to close for upgrades.
The works, which kick off in February, will improve the capacity and traffic flow to make it easier for customers to drop items for recycling and disposal.
Deputy mayor Anthony Aitken said thousands of people head to use the facility each week.
“These works will make it easier and safer for visitors to dispose of their waste and recycling,” he said.
“It’s wonderful to see how many in our community use our Resource Recovery Centres and are willing to help protect the environment by doing the right thing with their waste.”
The works are slated to be completed by mid-year.
During the upgrade period, visitors can drop off garden organics, soil and rubble to Green Care Mulching at 72-80 Buckley Grove in Moolap and Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre on Becks Rd in Drysdale.
Geelong RRC will continue to accept old electronics, whitegoods and clean cardboard during the upgrade period.
