Geelong tech entrepreneur wins international award

GEELONG technology entreprenuer Aamir Qutub has won the Young Professional of the Year award at the 2024 India Australian Business & Community Alliance Awards.

The India Australian Business & Community Alliance Awards celebrated outstanding contributions in fostering bilaterial relations between Australia and India.

Mr Qutub’s business Enterprise Monkey was also a finalist for Excellence in Innovation.

Enterprise Monkey offer custom business and community solutions for educational institutions, service exchange marketplaces and complex web applications.

Mr Qutub said he was thrilled to receive the international honour.

“It’s a win for Geelong and big step for positioning Geelong as a global player and the tech and innovation hub of Victoria
“A big credit to advocacy bodies like Committee for Geelong and Geelong Chamber of commerce for facilitating these opportunities and also for Deakin University for fostering innovation in their education.
“Geelong is in a unique position for a triple helix combination for education, industry and government and I’m really keen to keep pushing to put Geelong on the global map.”

Geelong Chamber of Commerce chief executive officer Jeremy Crawford said Mr Qutub’s personal nomination highlighted his exceptional leadership and dedication.

“His future-focused and global thinking is an inspiration to leaders looking to expand their enterprises and capitalise on new market opportunities.

The winners of the India Australian Business & Community Alliance Awards were announced at the Parliament of Australia in Canberra in the presence of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
