Geelong welcomes new waterfront wellness centre
DeakinACTIVE Waterfront Wellness Centre is set to welcome the Geelong community to its new premises with a community open day tomorrow (Saturday, February 17), from 10am-2pm.
Located under the new multilevel carpark on Brougham Street, the wellness centre is open to Deakin staff, students, and the public, featuring wellness spaces for yoga and Pilates, alongside a group fitness room equipped with Technogym technology.
The open day will offer a sneak peek at the wellness centre’s cutting-edge facilities and a variety of fitness options.
The day features complimentary group fitness classes and
wellness sessions, including circuit and boxing workouts, as well as mat Pilates and vinyasa flow yoga classes.
Team leader Paris van den Herik said she was thrilled to introduce the new wellness centre to the local community.
No matter where you are on your fitness journey, we’d love you to come down and meet the team.
“More than just a gym or a yoga studio, DeakinACTIVE Waterfront Wellness Centre is a place that provides you with the tools to unlock a healthy lifestyle.”
She encouraged attendees to book free classes or visit the new space for a chat with personal trainers.
The classes are suitable for all ages and skill levels, with no experience required.
“Just remember to book ahead and reserve your spot, as we anticipate the free classes will fill fast,” Ms van den Herik said.
An opening special offers 15 per cent off memberships, with early sign-ups entering a draw for a six-month membership.
