Geelong who’s-who launch Cats leader’s self-improvement book
FEMALE footy pioneers and leaders from some of Geelong’s most prominent organisations filled GMHBA Stadium’s President’s Room this week to launch a new self-help book from well-known businesswoman and local leader Diana Taylor.
Ms Taylor, who is vice-president of Geelong Cats and has a wealth of experience leading organisations, has released The Playbook, sharing her insights and knowledge to provide advice for success in all of life’s aspects.
Long-time Geelong media personality Roxie Bennett led a panel discussion on the night, which featured Netball Victoria and Melbourne Vixens CEO Rosie King, Cats CEO Steve Hocking and president Craig Drummond, former Richmond president Peggy O’Neal, and Deakin University vice-chancellor Iain Martin.
The book’s tagline, “Crossing the white line to succeed in life, business and the AFL”, hints at Ms Taylor’s role as a female trailblazer in all levels of football while also forging a successful law career and participating in a host of philanthropic initiatives.
“The Playbook guides the reader through many of the critical inner workings of life, business and football in a way that generally remains unspoken and sets out a pathway to think strategically, plan smart and execute for success.
“Dreams are owned by everyone – use The Playbook to cross the white line and make them a reality.”
Ms Taylor was the first woman appointed to key roles at Melbourne’s Western Region Football League and AFL Victoria before joining the Cats.
She has also chaired the Geelong Authority and Anam Cara House, sat on boards including for Geelong Gallery and Barwon Sports Academy, an won multiple awards from football and business bodies.
