Geelong Young Professionals to host breakfast with Colleen Callander

THE Geelong Young Professionals will host award-winning chief executive officer Colleen Callander as the keynote speaker at their upcoming networking breakfast this May, aiming to inspire emerging professionals in their leadership journeys.

Colleen Callander, a Geelong native, is the former CEO of Sportsgirl and founder of Mentor Me Women.

She has authored two books, Leader By Design and the recently released ELEVATE – Unlock Your Extraordinary Potential, co-written with executive life coach Shannah Kennedy.

Callander’s career has been marked by her commitment to inspiring and empowering women in business and life.

Her keynote address will focus on leadership and culture, offering insights into building confidence and establishing successful workplace environments.

“The Geelong Young Professionals community are our next generation,” she said.

“I am passionate about leadership and inspiring up and coming leaders in the Geelong community.

“My keynote demonstrates the importance of leadership, kindness and the awareness of self when it comes to running a successful business and healthy workplace.

“We need to change the narrative about what a leader is and identify that society is moving into a new era of leadership.

“Compassion, humility and putting people at the forefront of what we do is what makes a business a successful one.”

Callander said she was excited to be returning to Geelong for the event.

“Being a Geelong girl at heart, I love to come back to the place where my personal and leadership journey began.

“Now with 30 years of industry and leadership knowledge, I find great joy in sharing my story and empowering people to embrace their own journey.”
