Geelong’s Longest Lunch sets fundraising record
THE Calibre Workforce Geelong’s Longest Lunch has returned in the finest of fashions, with record crowds raising a record-breaking $80,000 for the Barwon Health Foundation.
Held on Geelong Waterfront at Transvaal Square on Friday, March 17, the event brought together more than 300 guests for the unique culinary experience, with top chefs from the region donating their time to produce a memorable four course meal coupled with local wines.
Participating chefs included Andy Symeonakis of 1915, Chris Hudich of Wharf Shed, Stuart North of Empire Grill, Mike Jaques of Tulip, Leonie Mills of The Cullinary Collective at The Gordon and Daniel Brehaut of The Davidson at The Gordon.
Hosted by food personality Sarah Pound, the crowd were not only treated to delicious food and wines but also to entertainment from Andy Pobjoy of Piano Bar and cocktails by George Camorra from The 18th Amendment Bar in Geelong.
Barwon Health Foundation Executive Director Zoe Waters said the event, which returned for the first time since 2019, was by far the most success in Geelong’s Longest Lunch history.
“From the stunning location to the delicious food, fortunate weather and record-breaking crowd -every element combined to help make it the biggest and best Geelong’s Longest Lunch yet with the greatest possible result for our local health service,” she said.
“Events like this simply don’t happen without a power of support so thank you our amazing sponsors and event partners who donated funds, equipment, staff and expertise to make it possible.”
All funds from the event will directly support the Foundation’s Project North appeal, a $2.5 million appeal to support healthier futures for residents in the northern suburbs of Geelong.
