GEELONG residents can get access to free housing advice and explore available services at next week’s Housing Information Fair.

The Monday, March 31 event at Corio Library will bring representatives from key housing support organisations all together under the one roof.

The federal government’s Department of Health and Aged Care, Barwon Community Outreach Legal Service, genU, Meli, Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative and more will all share their insights.

Geelong Regional Libraries chief executive officer Vanessa Schernickau said the event would provide a safe space for all to find key information.

“The Housing Information Fair is an important event in these challenging times.

“Geelong Regional Libraries, together with our valued partners, is committed to supporting equitable access to vital resources and information to all, including the most vulnerable in our community.”

The fair will offer guidance and information for a cross-section of the community, including the elderly, young people, First Nations communities, renters and those at risk of homelessness.

Two free informative talks will feature on the day.

Housing support for older people will be available from 10.15am to 11.15am, and support for renters in crisis will follow from 11.30am to 12.15pm.

Featured talks can be booked, but drop-ins are welcome.
