Give Geelong Appeal raises $70,000

THE Give Where You Live Foundation has wrapped up its 2025 Give Geelong Appeal, raising $70,000 to create a fairer community.

The week-long appeal came to a close on March 21 with local businesses joining in throughout the week with Footy Gear Friday and the Give Geelong Breakfast event.

Partners Hanlon Industries and Auswide Plumbing & Civil matched donations up to $15,000 for Footy Gear Friday while 250 people headed to the Give Geelong Breakfast event with guest speakers Dr Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn and Sarah Hayden.

The Give Where You Live Foundation is grateful for the support and generosity of the community while chief executive officer Zac Lewis saying they were pleased people got behind the appeal.

“We acknowledge that any donation is an incredible gift to our community, particularly with the current cost of living, when so many in our region are facing financial pressures of their own,” he said.

“Our work is not possible without the generosity of the community, particularly with the current cost of living, when so many in our region are facing financial pressures of their own.

“We are delighted with the support we received from the Geelong community who have really showed up to support each other.”

All funds raised from the appeal will go towards supporting the foundation’s work in a creating positive and lasting change for a fairer community.

“Our work is not possible without the generosity of the community,” Mr Lewis said.

“Because of this support, we will be able to make real change to many people’s lives.

“This generosity will help us to provide support in the areas of inclusive employment, homelessness and food security.

“We would also like to thank our Appeal partners, Hanlon Industries, Auswide Plumbing & Civil, K Rock 95.5, Bay 93.9, Times News Group and our Breakfast sponsors BBC Digital for their ongoing support.”
