GMHBA opens Geelong Hub
GMHBA has opened its new multidisciplinary healthcare hub in Geelong, with the aim of making it easier for people to get access to modern and convenient healthcare.
The new facility brings together a wide range of essential health services under one roof.
Located on the ground floor of GMHBA’s head office on Moorabool Street, Geelong Hub offers a full suite of health services, including dental, eye care, physiotherapy, private health insurance, with medical services to arrive soon.
The facility is open to not only GMHBA members but also the whole community.
At the opening on Tuesday this week, GMHBA chief operating officer (health and branch network) Natalie Lanarus said the hub had been designed not only to provide exceptional care but also to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients and visitors.
“We are thrilled to open the doors to this fantastic health precinct, which will provide services to everyone in the region and improve access to the high-quality, integrated care they deserve,” she said.
“The multidisciplinary approach fosters collaboration among healthcare providers, allowing for more personalised and coordinated care.
“Patients can access multiple services in one location, reducing complexity and making navigating their healthcare journey a more seamless experience”.
Ms Lanarus praised project builders McCormack for bringing to life a contemporary and aesthetic facility with an accessible layout and high-quality finishes.
The Geelong Hub features art by Indigenous artist Jenna Oldaker from Murrup Art, inspired by Wadawurrung Country.
GMHBA chief executive officer David Greig said primary and allied health services needed to keep up with Geelong’s rapidly growing population to help meet growing demand.
“This new facility addresses a critical need for local care, ensuring residents won’t need to travel long distances to access healthcare,” Mr Greig said.
“Geelong is a thriving community, and with more people moving to the region, there is an increasing need for timely, specialised, and integrated healthcare. This hub bridges the gap, ensuring that exceptional care is available right here in central Geelong in a location that is convenient for the community to access either from home or from work.”
The opening of the Geelong Hub is a step forward in GMHBA’s mission to make healthcare more accessible, integrated, and patient-focused.
“Our vision is for this hub to be a key healthcare destination for years to come, supporting the health and wellbeing of the people of Geelong,” Mr Greig said. For more information and bookings, head to gmhba.com.au/health-practices/gmhba-hub
