GMHBA will launch a multidisciplinary health hub in Geelong’s CBD in 2024.

Located on Moorabool Street, the new hub will occupy the ground level of the GMHBA building.

The initiative aims to centralise health insurance, dental, eye care, medical, and physiotherapy services in a single location.

Open to the general public, GMHBA seek to provide improved access to healthcare facilities, irrespective of insurance provider.

CEO David Greig said there was a rising demand for primary and allied health services in the region.

“With growing demand for primary and allied health services in the Geelong region, it will offer our members, patients and customers, improved access to state-of-the-art modern facilities and high-quality care,” Mr Greig said.

The move hopes to emulate the success of GMHBA’s Belmont Hub, launched in July, which blends medical, dental, and physiotherapy services with an adjoining

pharmacy.

“We are delighted with the response we’ve received to our Belmont Hub so far, and excited about the positive impact we will continue have on the health and wellbeing of our members and patients,” Mr Greig said.

The company states that its approach to the new facility will guide patients through their health journeys, emphasising preventive care.

“At the core of our approach is a belief that health is a collaborative journey. We don’t just offer specialised health care offerings; we embrace opportunities to connect with our members and the broader community in positive and meaningful ways,” Mr Greig said.

Last financial year, GMHBA recorded nearly 112,000 care instances involving consultations with their doctors, nurses, dentists, physiotherapists and optometrists. This marked a 4 per cent increase from the year prior.

The company’s health network spans Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Warrnambool, and Portland.
