Hayden Miller to farewell bay 93.9
AFTER 10 years of waking up Geelong, the Surf Coast and Bellarine on bay 93.9, Hayden Miller is saying goodbye.
The out-of-control wheezing laughs with his co-host Lisa ‘Milly’ Millard, the chats with adoring listeners who regularly drop off cupcakes and presents and the imparting of his wisdom about Wonder Woman or Apple products are all coming to an end.
Although station management have known for some time, Miller will be moving to Canberra with his partner to be closer to family.
“I’ve had the most amazing time in Geelong, especially on-air with Milly, who has become a very close friend,” he said.
“I’ll miss my Geelong radio family and the wonderful listeners who have been so supportive, but it’s time for another chapter in my life and and being closer to the other half of the family is important to my partner and I.”
Bay 93.9 content director Mark Hyland said Miller would be missed.
“He’s really become part of the listeners’ life over the past 10 years, sharing many milestones along the way. Hayden will be missed by listeners and workmates.”
“I’m crying already, he’s like a brother to me,” Milly said.
Geelong Broadcasters general manager Andy Mathers praised Miller’s dedication.
“10 years of 4am alarms and entertaining Geelong with a smile each morning is an amazing effort,” he said. “Thank you ‘Haydo’ for a job very well done.”
Miller’s last show on the bay 93.9 Morning Crew with Milly will be on December 18.
