EXCITEMENT is brewing at the Barwon Health Foundation with completion of its House4Health fast approaching.

The house is being built through a fundraising initiative, anticipated to be the foundation’s biggest fundraiser to date, is expected to be auctioned off to one lucky family this coming spring.

Barwon Health Foundation acting executive director Francis Trainor was not able to give a precise auction date, but said the Lara Lakes property had only minor tasks to be completed, ranging from landscaping, to painting, to the installation of a garage door.

“It’s really exciting to see the property starting to take shape and it will continue to do so particularly over the next three weeks with the plastering to take place this week,” Mr Trainor said.

“It’s a really nice layout, four bedrooms, two living rooms; it’s going to be really great for one lucky family out there.”

The House4Health initiative dates to mid-2023 when the Bisinella Development Family kickstarted the project by generously donating a block of land in the Lara Lakes estate valued at $400,000.

Lara West director Lino Bisinella gifted the block of land located on O’Hallorans Road as a means of giving back to the community.

All funds raised from the charity auction will be injected into Barwon Health Foundation’s Project North, specifically towards the relocation of the dental centre at Corio Community Health Centre to Barwon Health North in Norlane.

Mr Trainor said the project’s building partner Hamlan Homes expected construction of the property to be completed in early June.

“We’ve had a lot of supporters to get this project off the ground, Bendigo Bank has again been terrific through its community bank, as has Hamlan Homes and the Bisinella Family of course,” Mr Trainor said.

“Chair of the House4Health Advisory Committee, Libby Bate, she’s been amazing throughout the project to this point as well as Jo Boothryd from the Ray White Lara team.

“None of this would be possible without this support and we’re looking forward to the final result.”
