HUNDREDS of people gathered again at this year’s edition of Toast to the Coast to sample some of the best wine, beer and spirits the Geelong region has to offer.

The 2023 event presented by Wine Geelong retained its one-day format but was held at the new location of Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong, with this year’s Toast to the Coast spread across the White Rabbit Barrel Hall and Furphy Hall.

Jackie Wynne, Peter Wynne, Corinne Rice and Robyn Mackenzie clink their glasses.

Close to 800 people attended the morning and afternoon sesssions in total to pick up a Plumm glass to take home and try the cool-climate wines from 13 producers from the Moorabool Valley, Surf Coast, and Bellarine Peninsula that the Geelong region is famous for, along with gin and whiskey from three distilleries and beer from two breweries over two hours of tasting in each session.

Archive Academy also hosted two “Geelong vs The Rest of the World” masterclasses for aficionadoes to learn more about how wines from Geelong stack up against their international counterparts.

Wine Geelong’s next event will be the Geelong Wine Show, with this year’s event to be its 24th edition.

Entries close on October 20, and the winners will be announced at Terindah Estate on November 17.
