NEWCOMB Power junior footy player Hunter Armstrong has been anticpating heading to the AFL Grand Final for weeks, and is bringing a friend along for the ride.

Hunter, who lives in St Albans, was announced in May as one of the 23 lucky recruits for Team NAB AFL Auskick, and will have the honour of presenting a premiership medal to one of the winning players on the last Saturday in September.

Hunter was given the opportunity to take a friend with him to the Grand Final, and recruited Auskick friend and daycare buddy Tom Bandy to Team NAB AFL Auskick.

Along with the other recruits, the pair will be taken on the ultimate three-day footy experience, all thanks to NAB.

The recruits will attend a dedicated Team NAB AFL Auskick jumper presentation, walk alongside the stars in the Grand Final Parade, watch on from prime MCG seats as the two teams battle in the Grand Final, and finally present a premiership medal to the winning team.

Hunter still has a good chance to cheer on his beloved Collingwood and his favourite player Nick Daicos in the Grand Final, assuming the Magpies make it and Daicos returns from injury – Collingwood has the bye after beating Melbourne and has gone through to the First Preliminary Final.

However, Tom will have to choose a neutral side to support, as Richmond did not qualify make the finals this year.

The NAB initiative celebrates Aussie children through grassroots footy who simply love to play the game.

More than 100,000 boys and girls are expected to participate in Auskick programs at more than 4,000 centres across Australia this year.
