Investigation underway after woman dies in Norlane fire

A woman has died following a house fire in Geelong’s northern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to a block of units on Thompson Road in Norlane at about 3am after reports of a fire.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control before finding an unresponsive woman inside one of the properties.

She was treated at the scene but could not be revived.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, with detectives from the arson and explosive squad investigating.

Police are appealing for anyone who has information, witnessed the incident or has footage from the area to come forward.
