Jaycar returns to Geelong
AFTER a devastating fire earlier this year, electronic merchant Jaycar has returned to Geelong, opening its brand-new store last week.
Now located along Moorabool Street, the new store gives the business more exposure to the Geelong customer base compared to the previous building in Mercer Street.
Jaycar regional Victoria area manager Mark Clinch said the team is over the moon to have the business back in Geelong and everyone is excited about the future and going forward.
“I’d encourage all our old customers to come down and have a browse through the new store, they’ll be quite impressed.
“It’s much bigger, it’s almost double the size and a lot more products in the store.”
The store has already been popular with the community in the lead up to Christmas, officially opening last Friday (November 29) in time for a busy Black Friday.
With the return of the business, comes the return of its team, retaining 99 percent of its original team members.
The team were determined to get the store open in time for Black Friday, turning what would normally be a three-week fitout inside the store into just eight days.
Following the February fire, Mr Clinch said they were never going to leave Geelong and were always planning on coming back.
“It just took a bit of time to get the right location.
“Of course, we’ve got to cater for our customers, so we have to find a store that would cater for the car parking and things like that.”
Jacar Geelong can now be found at 413 Moorabool Street.
