Lions Car Show draws big crowd
IT WAS a record-breaking day at Pirra Homestead for the Lara Lions charity Car Show on Sunday.
More than 350 vehicles lined the grounds of the Lara venue for the annual event, up from the 140 vehicles that participated last year.
Cars and motorcycles of all makes and models were invited to attend the motoring day, with a range of classic and modern cars heading along.
Lara Lions member Maryanne Mullahy said it was an awesome event and organisers were thrilled with the turnout.
“There was no way we could ever have estimated how big it was going to be.
“We were truly astonished by the record-breaking turnout of car and motorcycle enthusiasts who came together to celebrate their passions.”
Ms Mullahy said the weather was perfect for the event, adding to the unforgettable atmosphere of the day and creating a strong sense of community.
Money from the show will be split between charity partner Outpost, Lions projects and the shows return next year, with the final fundraising tally still being calculated.
The Car Show has been running since 2013 and this year had the goal of hosting its biggest one yet, made possible by the car enthusiasts.
“This incredible success is all thanks to the passionate Victorian car and motorcycle community,” Ms Mullahy said.
The Lions Club is now looking at all the feedback from the event for how they can improve it next year.
