Hamilton is coming to Australia.

HAMILTON the hit musical which has taken the world by storm, will show in Sydney next year and will feature three Geelong performers in the cast.

Lyndon Watts, Kyla Bartholomeusz and Winston Hillyer will all perform in the production which is promoted as being ‘the story of America then, told by America now’.

Lyndon Watts has been cast as Aaron Burr in the production, who fatally shot his friend-come-rival Hamilton. The actor, who trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and has starred in theatre productions West Side Story and Aladdin, was reflective in a recent Instagram post stating:

“The meaning of this show and its place in people’s lives is not lost on me, becoming part of this show’s legacy makes my heart hum with joy,” he said.

“I hope people see themselves in this show. I’m honoured to find that I have a place in it as Aaron Burr.”

Similarly, Ms Bartholomeusz was ecstatic in a post of her own.

“What. Is. Happening. This year has been absolutely insane… but becoming an original cast member of Hamilton would have to be the most insane magic so far.”

“My absolute dreams have come true and I cannot wait to bring this phenomenal masterpiece to life for Australian audiences.”

To really ram it home Ms Bartholomeasuz finished her post with, I’ll never get over it. I’m still in shock. I am beyond grateful!”.

Mr Hillyer was appreciated the opportunity stating that while an actor experiences highs and lows “this is one of those moments to celebrate.”

The production written by Lin-Manuel Miranda has been an overwhelming critical and commercial success and received a swag of Tony awards.

The musical will occur in Sydney after a fierce battle for the right to stage the musical between Melbourne and Sydney.
