POPULAR Channel 9 travel program Postcards has taken a trip down to the stunning Lorne this week to unearth the best in dining, entertainment and travel in the seaside town.

Set to premiere this Sunday at 5:30pm, Postcards presenter Madeline Spark takes a venture down the Great Ocean Road to Lorne (Gadabanud Country) and drops into a selection of its tourist attractions and creative hubs.

Madeline starts off her trip by taking a walk on the Lorne Pier, famous for the annual Pier to Pub swimming race and thereafter heads into the Lorne Pier Art Bazaar where a pair of local artists showcase their love for the area with art and collectables.

Madeline said she thoroughly enjoyed her time touring Lorne and meeting the locals who continue to keep the town thriving.

“I love any chance to take a trip along The Great Ocean Road and take in the beautiful scenery with every twist and turn.

“We filmed the golf course at Lorne’s Country Club – I’d never been here before so taking in that view was quite spectacular!

“We also went down to the pier, which looked like such a serene spot to park yourself and watch the waves roll in and it got exciting when we saw a big manta ray swim underneath the pylons.

“While there are lots of great foodie destinations in Lorne and plenty of new buzzy restaurants opening, you also can’t go wrong with a classic pie from the Great Ocean Road Bakery.”
