Man dies in Lovely Banks crash

Police are investigating a fatal two-car collision in Lovely Banks, north of Geelong.

Emergency services were called to Lovely Banks Road about 10.10am on Monday following reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles.

Responding crews treated the male driver of one of the cars, however he could not be revived and died at the scene.

A female passenger from the same vehicle was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

The occupants of the second vehicle were also transported to hospital for treatment.

Victoria Police said the circumstances surrounding the collision are still under investigation.

Investigators are now working to determine what led to the crash and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time.
