MEDIMIME Productions is back on stage in its 51st year, and aims to add to its fundraising total for Barwon Health with a new pantomime.

The Snow Queen is an enchantingly fun spectacle incorporating classic favourite songs and recent hits that will leave the audience bopping along in time. There is even an opportunity to join the stars of the show up on stage for a dance.

In this whimsical pantomime retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale, audiences will be transported into a magical world filled with laughter, music, and enchantment.

The story begins in the cozy village of IKEA, where we meet our heroine Gerda, a kind-hearted and courageous young girl, and her best friend Kai.

All seems well in the village, until a magical mirror, shattered by the evil Snow Queen, sends a cursed shard into Kai’s heart, transforming his gentle nature into cold indifference.

Soon after, the Snow Queen herself appears in a flurry of ice and wind, spiriting Kai away to her icy palace in the far-off frozen North.

Determined to save him, Gerda sets off on a perilous journey across enchanted lands.

Her adventure is full of colourful encounters and laugh-out-loud moments as she meets a cast of quirky and fantastical characters.

With its blend of humour, spectacle, and heartwarming storytelling, this pantomime rendition of The Snow Queen is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

The Snow Queen opens at Geelong Arts Centre today (Friday, November 7) and runs until November 16 over eight shows.
