The newly developed Armstrong Creek Town Centre opened today to an excited but socially distanced crowd.Former Essendon footballer and current Wel.Co managing director Andrew Welsh said he was “incredibly happy to have opened stage one”.
The precinct includes a Coles and Liquorland, Anytime Fitness, Terry White Chemmart, Beauty Genesis, Coral Massage, Tattslotto and Overtime Espresso. More retailers are also expected to open in the near future.
Coles Armstrong Creek store manager Paul Clark said the community would benefit greatly from the new centre.
“We’ve hired 78 new team members — most of whom are from Armstrong Creek and surrounding suburbs. They’re really enthusiastic to get going and to show locals what all the fuss is about.”
