CAR enthusiasts, residents and visitors flocked to the waterfront for the return of the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival over the weekend, despite the turbulent weather.

The festival received 250 race entries and more than 1,000 vehicles on display, with crowds braving the rainy weather to watch a spectacular weekend of incident-free racing.

Beyond the quarter mile sprints and the motorshow, there was plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend for everyone.

From Nissan GTRs to Ford Mustangs, the festival had it all.

Additional festival features included the motor expo, National Vintage Fashion Awards, food trucks, entertainment, and other exciting demonstrations.

Ford’s Next-Generation Ranger and Next-Generation Everest also made their first-ever public in Australia, to surprise and delight attendees and Ford fans.

“We’re so glad to be back, we’ve had a fantastic weekend of racing and an amazing showcase on the Geelong waterfront. We’d like to thank all of our supporters and sponsors,” event director Nicholas Heath said.

“If the stars align, we’ll be back in November in our regular spot on the calendar. We look forward to doing it all again later in the year.”

Thousands of people made their way down to Geelong’s Waterfront to browse the extensive variety of automobiles.

Fastest times for Saturday were made by Sally-Anne Hains at 10.49 seconds in her twin turbo 2010 Porsche, along with the fastest motorcycle time by Ian Ruby on his 2015 BMW S1000R at 10.91 seconds.

Cars enhanced by their owners got the chance to test out their accelerator pedals along Eastern Beach.

Sunday’s fastest quarter mile sprints were Nick McBride at 10.82 seconds in his 2022 Porsche Taycan Turbo S, and Josh King took out the fastest motorcycle time on his 2001 Ducati Monster.

“There was so much to do and celebrate this year, it reached our expectations of being a huge weekend of classic racing and fun for the entire family,” Mr Heath added.
