THE Ocean Grove Toy Library is back in business and has moved to a click-and-collect service so that playtime can keep going during the coronavirus pandemic.
The toy library, which operates out of the Boorai Centre, re-opened on Saturday.
“Those of us with kids who have been at home more than usual know that we are so sick of playing with the same toys over and over; parents and kids alike!” committee member Marie-Claire Trotter said.
In order to minimise the number of people congregated in the library at any one time, the committee have devoted the past few weeks to setting up click-and-collect.
Toy library members can search for toys online, reserve the toys they want, then collect at a prearranged time on Saturday mornings.
“This system has been implemented by many toy libraries across Victoria and we’re excited to be able to once again offer toys to people from Ocean Grove to Queenscliff,” Ms Trotter said.

With “iso-birthdays” becoming the norm for many children, the Ocean Grove Toy Library’s Party Packs are a great way to make a party at home feel like something special. The Party Packs include a roller coaster, mini trampoline, slide, tunnels and
much more.
Toys for preschoolers available through a toy library membership range from dolls and their accessories, to cars and garages, as well as costumes, trikes, blocks, puzzles, games, and instruments.
Discounted grandparent memberships are also available.
The toy library will next open its doors on August 15.
