Pets Day Out is back this Sunday

September 30, 2022 BY

Pets entered in the parade will have the chance to win a share in prizes.

WARRALILY’S annual Pets Day Out is back for the first time since 2019 and will celebrate the community’s four-legged friends in a fun and inclusive day for all.

The much-loved event dedicated to all things cute and fluffy will return this Sunday, October 2 and will include live entertainment, market stalls, pet-themed activities, food vendors and the popular pet parade as sponsored by PETstock.

Warralily community development manager Nina Bendon said the organisation was full of excitement going into Sunday’s event.

“We are thrilled to deliver this event for our pet loving community once again and are especially looking forward to the return of the PETStock Pet Parade.

“There’ll be family and pet friendly entertainment from Flipping Disc Dogz, an animal petting farm experience, pet photobooth, pet themed pop-up shops, live music, food trucks and so much more!

“Come along and enjoy the day, connect with your neighbors and support our local businesses.”

Sunday’s parade will provide a great opportunity for owners to show off their pet’s unique attributes and to capture the moment with free onsite pet photography by Best In Show Pet Photography.

Placegetters will be decided across six categories: Best Dressed, Best Trick, Best Behaved, Largest Pet, Smallest Pet and Most Unusual Pet – and a share of prizes will be up for grabs.

Petstock representatives Herman and Devenia will be on hand to judge the pet parade.

Geelong dog trainers Beau Pearson and Sim Hallebrand and their talented border collie act, The Flipping Disc Dogz, will also headline Sunday’s entertainment.

The act received a standing ovation from audiences and judges in season nine of Australia’s Got Talent in 2019 and the crowd will have the pleasure of marvelling at their high-flying acrobatic tricks choreographed to music.

Local musician Georgia Rogers will also be on the bill. She will perform several original compositions, as well as covers of jazz and blues tunes by Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Etta James and Macy Gray.

Food trucks will be on hand throughout the day to serve all two-legged and four-legged attendees.

OMG Donuts, Go with The Flow Crepes, The Lil Dumpling Van, BBQ Hustler, Pizza and more will be on the menu for humans, while Pure Paws Bakery, Dog Yog and fellow stalls will offer dog treats, dog minding, training and therapy services.

The Pets Day Out will begin at 11am this Sunday at Mirambeena Park, Warralily Boulevard.
