A PILOT has suffered serious injuries after their plane crashed at Avalon Airport today (Friday, March 28) during the Australian International Airshow.

The plane was one of four from the Sky Aces Formation Aerobatic Team and crashed near the runway during a flying display earlier this afternoon.

The pilot of the plane is not known, but the Avalon 2025 website lists Paul Bennett, Glenn Graham, Jesse Jury and Glenn Collins as members of the Sky Aces Formation Aerobatic Team.

Emergency services at the airshow rushed to the scene.

“Paramedics responded to an aircraft incident in Avalon around 5.35pm,” Ambulance Victoria stated.

“There is one patient with upper and lower body injuries, in a serious condition.

“An air ambulance has been dispatched.”

Flying displays have been suspended, and the entire airshow has now been closed for the day.

More to come.
