Plans for new medical centre
PLANS for a new medical centre has been lodged with the City of Greater Geelong, with the proposed practice to be located at a prime Highton location.
The application which calls for the use of land for a medical centre on Roslyn Road, features three consultation rooms for medical practitioners and a separate treatment room.
The site is currently used as a single storey residential building and is located across from the Highton Recreational Reserve.
The centre would be positioned just a few doors down from an existing medical practice in the busy Highton area.
“The rooms will provide easy access from the carpark into the building where patients can discuss sickness or have health checks with a doctor,” the report reads.
“The block is on a street that has Public transport available for patients that don’t drive.”
In the report it says the building will be fitted out for an existing business to relocate to or for a new medical practice to open up.
The proposed operational periods are between Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm.
Up to three practitioners and a full-time receptionist will work from the space, if the application is approved.
A decision is not set to be made until after August 23.
