Playspace expansion

August 14, 2021 BY

PLANS for a new playground at Bell Park’s Hammersley Reserve have been revealed and the council is asking for feedback on the design.

The existing playground is ready for a revamp, with the City of Greater Geelong allocating funding towards the project in last year’s budget.
A concept plan has been created, in accordance with Playground Australia requirements, and the community can now provide feedback on the design before the project progresses.

The proposed plan includes development of a larger playspace on the site off Hammersley Road, with the addition of new equipment for children to climb, slide and play on.

The design also includes a new path through the park, additional trees, a new bubbler tap and relocation of seating.

Parents and other park users are encouraged to complete an online survey and the community feedback will help with the final design.

The expansion and creation of the new playspace is planned to be completed by early 2022.

The community survey must be completed by 4pm on August 30.
