One of the Bellarine’s favourite annual events, the Portarlington Mussel Festival, is coming to town on January 11.
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the festival which is located on the beautiful foreshore.
It caters to all ages and makes this a family friendly festival for all to enjoy.
Each year more than 10 tonnes of local mussels are available for sale, dine in or take away. All visitors get to taste the famous local mussels in a variety of ways.
There are also more than 120 food and drink stalls, market stalls and great musicians playing across five stages. This year’s incredible headliner is Queen Forever – The Australian Queen Tribute Show, which will entertain the young and old.
There will also be many roving entertainers for the kids, art shows highlighting our local talent, cooking demonstrations and local beer and wine tastings. It is always a great day out packed with fun for the whole family.
The festival now welcomes thousands of visitors, from the Bellarine and beyond, who not only enjoy the festival but also the local shops, cafes and wonderful beaches.
The Mussel Festival is a community event, and proceeds go to support local organizations. Parking is free and entry is $5 for adults and children are free entry.
The festival is smoke free, dog free, straw free and no BYO alcohol. Please remember to bring your reusable bags and drink bottles.
Come along between 9.30am-5pm on Saturday, January 11 for a great day out.
