Purr-fect prize for Christmas drive donors
A SIGNED jumper from Geelong Cats AFL premiership captain Joel Selwood will go to one lucky donor to The Geelong Giving Tree Appeal.
The local Christmas campaign has launched the new competition in the final days of its 2022 donation drive, which raises money for family and crisis services that help local residents and families who would otherwise struggle to pay for traditional festive items.
The Geelong Giving Tree Appeal is presented by Bethany Community Support, alongside Barwon Child Youth and Family and The Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre, and for more than 20 years has supported Greater Geelong community members to buy food and gifts.
People who donate at least $10 to the Joel Selwood Jumper Team will be in the draw to win the grand prize.

Higher donations mean a higher chance of winning, with each $10 stake equivalent to one entry; a $20 donation is worth two tickets, $50 is worth five, and so on.
Entries to the competition end on Tuesday (December 6). There is no limit to the number of times each person can enter.
The competition end date coincides with the Appeal’s final day, called Giving Tuesday, when donation partners Anthony Costa Foundation, Benefit Geelong, GMHBA, Cleanaway, APCO Foundation, Bisinella and Geelong Connected Communities will combine to match contributions to double their impact.
Organisers are also encouraging residents and businesses to start their own fundraising teams to help the Appeal towards its ambitious $100,000 target.
The Appeal has provided $167,000 in just the last two years, providing more than 1,600 families with gift cards for items the otherwise could not afford. The last two appeals have raised $167,000, with organisers targeting $100,000 this year.
Families and children can buy food and gifts with gift cards provided as part of the Christmas drive.
