Geelong’s skies will come alive this weekend as the Royal Australian Air Force Roulettes take flight for their first public display of the year at the Festival of Sails.
On Saturday 24 January, up to six of the elite aerobatic team’s Pilatus PC-21 aircraft will perform a high-energy aerial display over the city’s picturesque waterfront at 3.30pm.
Based at RAAF Base East Sale, the Roulettes are renowned for their precision flying and dynamic manoeuvres. Their return to Geelong marks a highlight of the Festival of Sails program, thrilling spectators both onshore and on the water.
Members of the Roulettes team will be available for interviews on request, offering fans and media a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the high-skill world of Air Force display flying.
The Air Force has emphasised that the flying schedule is subject to change at short notice due to factors such as weather, air traffic and operational considerations. Any updates will be shared via the Roulettes’ official Facebook and Instagram channels.
Noise and environmental impact are being carefully managed as part of the flight planning process, with the aircraft operating to minimise disruption to the local community.
More information about aircraft noise management is available at defence.gov.au/aircraftnoise or by calling 1800 333 362.
