Record numbers attend All Ford Day

March 24, 2023 BY

GEELONG’S annual All Ford Day has reached new heights following its restriction-free return to Geelong.

About 1,500 Ford vehicles were on display at Eastern Park, ranging from the latest and greatest in Ford’s technology, to vintage Model T Fords originating from the early 1900s.

There were 36 categories of prizes for car entrants on the day.

Dubbed the “Mecca” by Ford fans, visitors came from across Australia to attend the event at Ford’s spiritual home, including one keen fan who drove more than 1,200km to attend, according to event director Nicholas Heath.

This year’s event was the first time in three years there were no restrictions.

“We were hoping for a big crowd this year, but we couldn’t have predicted such a massive turnout from both spectators and the overall Ford community,” Mr Heath said.

“We had a blast hosting such a popular event and hope to continue its success next year.”

Mr Heath said the more than 7000 patrons who flooded through the gates was a new spectator record.

Out of the 1,500 vehicles, 500 cars were judged in one of 36 categories, with each winner taking home a trophy.

The headline winner presented by Ford Australia was Gerry Giuliani, awarded the perpetual William Clay Ford Jnr Trophy for his XY GTHO Replica.

Fords dating back to the Model T were on display at Eastern Park.

It was the 32nd time the All Ford Day event was held.
