THE City of Greater Geelong has revealed plans for an upgrade to Rippleside’s St Helen’s Reserve.

COGG has proposed to build a timber platform and shelter over an existing concrete slab near the site’s boat ramp to improve the precinct.

The facelift would include decking stairs, ramp access and a picnic table with views of Corio Bay, while retaining existing vegetation.

The council has released concept plans of its design for public exhibition and a survey to collect the community’s views on its proposal.

The online survey quizzes residents about their current use of the St Helen’s Park precinct, their thoughts on the COGG design and whether the changes would encourage them to make greater use of the area.

“Quality open space is a priority for our community and this park upgrade will create a better space for everyone to enjoy,” COGG said.

The council survey is open until May 24.

The city indicated it would then collect community feedback and compile a report, which it would then present to councillors before beginning construction.
