THE Surf Coast’s premier fight event has not left a stone unturned in preparation for its return to Wurdi Baierr Stadium tomorrow afternoon (March 18).

SALT Fight Series 2 has confirmed its 13 bouts, beginning at 3.30pm, with a couple of late changes including the main event, but co-organiser Matt Williams is anticipating another sold-out card, similar to the previous show that wowed the region last November.

“We are really confident on the eve of the event and cannot wait to get it underway,” Williams said.

“So much effort goes into the planning for an event like this, it is going to be an amazing feeling to sit back and enjoy the show.

Williams said each fight has been meticulously matched to ensure a top value entertainment factor.

The matchmaking process involved a lot of consideration and workshopping to align the participating athletes with regard to the athletes’ experience levels, creating an “incredible” card top to bottom.

“Ticket sales were slow off the mark but have caught up fast,” Williams added.

“We are anticipating another sold-out event.

“People are really keen to come and check it out for a second time, having been converted to ‘fans for life’ after the inaugural event.”

The full SALT Fight Series 2 card will run as follows:

Drew East (Bones Torquay) vs Johnny Armstrong (Renegade MMA) – catchweight
Tommy Kempter (Dominance MMA) vs Bakir Amaleh (Adrenaline MMA) – catchweight
Scarlett Orwin (Bones Torquay) vs Alice Liu (Adrenaline MMA) – bantamweight
James Fisher (Dominance MMA) vs Kenatro Bowden (Adrenaline) – bantamweight
Lachlan Paterson (Bones Torquay) vs Wyatt Alatipi (Resilience Training Centre) – featherweight
Cody Pettina (Adept MMA) vs Keegan D’Souza (Resilience Training Center) – featherweight
Samantha Bariball (Bones Torquay) vs Taylor Ly (Pro-Fit) – flyweight
Ali Haidari (XFC) vs Cam Quashie (Resilience Training Centre) – featherweight
Jordan Sambucco (Bones Torquay) vs Rozay Hassan (Resilience Training Centre) – super lightweight
Mayson Nobetsu (Absolute MMA) vs Jett Fisher (Primal MMA) – featherweight
Versace Dave (Bones Torquay) vs Rithik Nath (House of Spades) – flyweight
Adnan ‘The Butcher’ Larry (Absolute MMA) vs Callum Berechree (HTC)- heavyweight
Hoshi Friedrich (Kings MMA) vs Stu ‘Tumbleweed’ Dare (HTC) – middleweight
Main event: Luke ‘Diamond’ Dally (Infinite) vs Darcy Balhas (XFC) – lightweight

Williams confirmed the main event lost Sydney-based fighter David Fowler for the show last week due to glandular fever.

However, Hoshi Friedrich, a veteran of the sport and a crowd favourite has stepped up last minute to take on Stu Dare from Tasmania, a rematch nine years in the making.

“There hasn’t been a stone left unturned in the preparation,” Williams concluded.

“From the athlete management to the community partnerships, to who’s going to sweep and mop at the end of the night, it would be less work to launch a rocket.”
