SAMESYN 2.0 restaurant in Torquay has a huge opportunity to grow its profile after being named a finalist in a social media sensation’s new foodie review game.

The Attention Game is a new initiative being run via social media by restaurant owner and Michelin star awardee Sandor Varga (@alexandertheguest).

The game gives restaurants from around the world the opportunity to “get the attention they deserve”.

Samesyn 2.0 has been shortlisted as one of 10 global finalists and is the only Australian restaurant on the list.

Public voting will now determine a winner, with votes being collated until midnight on September 7.

If successful, the profit-for-purpose venue will receive a special review video by Mr Varga to give them extra attention on social media.

Samesyn 2.0 owner Graham Jeffries said the team was very excited to be included on the shortlist.

“I’ve followed this guy for years and he is just absolutely awesome. He’s food writer, is really knowledgeable, isn’t opinionated or bias and is just a really great person… I reckon he’ll end up on Netflix.

“We went through three rounds of criteria over the past few months or so and now we are just thrilled we’ve managed to make the top 10 in this global competition.

“He’s never been to Australia and to get him here who would so beneficial. It’s a pretty big audience down here and it could be huge from a tourism point of view.”
