Stock up on $1 books this April
UNITING Barwon-Grovedale is hosting its April book sale, and nothing is over one dollar.
The Friday, April 14, and Saturday, April 15, sale in on between 10am and 2pm at the Grovedale Uniting Church.
Uniting Barwon Volunteer Admin Support Sandra Mellross said there is sure to be a range of new and old stock to browse through.
“You might find anything from educational, study books, to fiction or craft books.”
“We have people who come along every month or people who just come along every so often, depends how fast they read I suppose.
“It’s a good way to stock up on reading material, and it’s cheaper.”
The monthly book sale is hosted Uniting Barwon in partnership with the Grovedale Uniting Church.
All money from the book sale will go towards Uniting Barwon, an organisation that provides emergency support to those who are vulnerable in the local Geelong community.
“It’s really just an outdoor op shop. “It’s on every month and everybody’s welcome.
“It’s community focused and everybody who goes enjoys it.”
Mellross said the book sale is usually hosted on the 1st Friday and Saturday of the month, but this month it has been delayed a week to avoid coinciding with the Easter weekend.
This month the pop-up bookstore is on between 10.00am and 2.00pm at the Barwon-Grovedale Uniting Church, 272 Torquay Road, Grovedale, the Corner Reserve and Torquay Roads.
