Success for firefighters at state championships

LEOPOLD Fire Brigade is celebrating winning the rural seniors’ division one aggregate at the CFA/VFBV State Firefighter Championships, run in Mooroopna in March.

Grovedale is also rejoicing after its junior teams placed strongly.

The under-14 team secured second place while the under-17s finished third as Grovedale’s junior earned third place overall.

“The whole brigade are extremely proud of their achievements! A special thanks to the coaches for their dedication in training the juniors. Well done!” the brigade posted on its Facebook page.

More than 100 CFA urban and rural brigades competed across two weekends.
