COMMUNITY members are invited to celebrate the talents of local artisans and discover unique Christmas gifts at tomorrow’s (December 7) Geelong Regional Libraries Arts and Crafts Market Day.

Saturday’s event will be held at the Belmont, Leopold, Geelong and Torquay libraries and feature over 40 local makers.

Handmade cards, jewellery and hair accessories, original artworks, crocheted toys, stationery, bowls, bracelets, baskets, blanket, bags and baubles will all be up for grabs.

Bellarine photographer Irelynn Evans will be showcasing her work at Leopold Library, and said the market would be a wonderful opportunity to grow her profile.

“I love to do photography; it is a passion of mine.

“What this market means to me and other artists is that we can share our work with others around the local area. To be a part of the community is a pleasure.

“I love the idea of allowing younger entrepreneurs such as myself an opportunity to show our work.”

Geelong Regional Libraries chief executive officer Vanessa Schernickau emphasised the event’s importance in supporting local creativity and community.

“The Arts & Craft Market Day is a fantastic way to connect with our local makers and pick up something truly unique.

“It’s all about celebrating creativity, supporting small-scale artisans, and shopping with heart this festive season.

“I’m looking forward to exploring what’s on offer this year.”

No bookings are required, and entry is free.

The event’s locations and times are:

Belmont Library – 9.30am to 2pm

Geelong Library and Heritage Centre – 10.30am-2:30pm
