THE Surf Coast Country Women’s Association (CWA) has provided a huge boost to Geelong Mums by donating 10 highchairs.

The donation will allow Geelong Mums to help give vulnerable babies and children the best start at life.

The Surf Coast CWA, which was established in 2018, host fun activities like cooking classes and arts and crafts sessions to raise money for charity and local organisations in need.

Surf Coast CWA member, Deb Elliot said when a need for highchairs was identified by Geelong Mums, the local group was straight on the case.”We regularly donate goods to many local organisations, including Geelong Mums.

“I popped in one day and they told me they were desperate for some highchairs.

“The Surf Coast CWA has donated money in the past and this year we decided to supply them with some goods like bags, face washers and wipers and much more.

“We were really glad to be able to help out with this request and they were just as thrilled.”

Since its inception, the Surf Coast CWA has injected over $3,000 into the Surf Coast, Bellarine and Greater Geelong communities.

This has included $1,000 to Anglesea Foodlink, $1,000 in fuel vouchers for Surf Coast Wildlife Rescue and a $1,000 to the Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre in Geelong.

Mrs Elliot said Geelong Mums has always resonated with the Surf Coast CWA.

“They are always willing to take on what we make.

“It can be book bags, linen bags, toiletry bags and much more.

“They service so many people in the local community.

“There’s a huge need and really serve our purpose of sewing and making things for charity.”
