Surfcoast Chargers secure grand final win

SURFCOAST Chargers are 2025 Big V Division 2 champions, after emerging victorious in tonight’s (August 23) Grand Final against the Sherbrooke Suns.

In an on-court battle, the Chargers were crowned winners after defeating the Suns 92-75 at a packed-out Upwey Stadium.

The Chargers started the night strong, ending the first quarter in front by 12, thanks to Dexter Graham pulling in nine points, further bolstered by Nathan Gronbeck’s early efforts.

Surfcoast held their lead for the remainder of the game, holding a nine-point lead at half-time.

The team went on to extend their lead, winning by 17 points to take home the championship.

For the Chargers, their rebounding skills helped them break away, tallying 47 rebounds to the Suns 38 across four quarters.
