Three injured in Torquay crash

Emergency services responded to a crash at a busy Torquay intersection on Thursday morning that left three people, including two children, injured.

Three people, including two children, were injured in a crash at a busy Torquay intersection on Thursday that prompted a large emergency response.

The collision occurred at the Surf Coast Highway and Blackgate Road intersection shortly after 9am, with Ambulance Victoria, the CFA, police and Fire Rescue Victoria called to the scene.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics assessed and treated multiple people following the crash.

Two school-aged children and a man were transported by road to Geelong University Hospital with non-life-threatening upper-body injuries.

They are in a stable condition.

A CFA spokesperson said four units responded to the incident.

They arrived to find a person trapped in one of the vehicles.

While working to free the individual, a small fire started in the car, which a was quickly contained.

The incident was declared under control at 9.37am.
