Tickets still available for G21 forum
TICKETS are still available for this week’s G21 Stakeholder Forum, which will return to a face-to-face format this year.
To be again held at RACV Torquay Resort, the April 1 event has a lineup that includes former ABC broadcaster Jon Faine as master of ceremonies.
Highly respected author and journalist George Megalogenis and urban research expert Distinguished Professor Billie Giles-Corti will present their insights on “Connected Communities” and G21’s opportunity to become Australia’s most liveable region.
Other speakers will include:
- Wadawurrung woman and Traditional Owner Corrina Eccles
- Dr Angela Jackson, lead economist at Impact Economics and Policy
- Jeremy McLeod, founder and design director at Breathe Architecture and managing director at Nightingale Housing, and
- Urbis planning director Nat Anson.
A panel will discuss the importance of creating connected, equitable, sustainable communities and the need to put people at the centre of our thinking.
The forum frequently features federal and state leaders from Labor, the Liberals and the Greens, and Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese have been invited to attend this year’s event, which is likely to fall just before the start or in the early days of the federal election campaign.
G21 says it is crossing its fingers Mr Morrison and Mr Albanese will take the opportunity to lay out their vision for the G21 region before voters head to the polls by no later than May 21.
