TICKETS are now on sale for the Community Cup, part of the Super Saturday on the Coast races at the Geelong Racing Club on January 4.

The popular community fundraising initiative was run for the first time this year, and will be back in 2025.

The Geelong Racing Club is selling bundles of 20 tickets for $500, which include a reserved spot on the lawn, dedicated umbrella, tables and chairs for the group

Each bundle has a chance – limited to a maximum of 16 – to be drawn and randomly allocated to a horse in the feature race at Super Saturday on the Coast and share in a $40,000 cash prize pool.

Based on a full 16-horse field, the first place holder will receive $15,000, second place $10,000, third place $5,000, fourth place $3,500, fifth place $1,500 and sixth place to 16th place $500, so clubs and groups successfully drawn in the Community Cup will effectively get their money back no matter where their horse finishes.

Clubs and groups need to be incorporated or registered to purchase a bundle for the Community Cup, and a representative of the club or group must be nominated and be in attendance on the day. Clubs and groups may purchase a maximum of one bundle.

The first Super Saturday on the Coast was held in January this year and drew a crowd of about 5,000 to the course’s first Saturday metropolitan meet in 87 years, with the top prize in the Community Cup going to St Mary’s Football Club.

The second event will again present a day of family fun, entertainment, and thrilling metro-grade racing.
