Tiny Home Expo opens in Geelong

March 28, 2023 BY

WANDER through the most eclectic collection of tiny houses in Australia when the Tiny Home Expo makes its way to Geelong this month.

The expo will bring a range of tiny houses and alternative building ideas from houses on wheels, domes, to backyard pods and offices, alongside all things off-grid to the Geelong Race Course on March 31 to April 2.

Founder of the Tiny Home Expo Phae Barrett said the expo not only shows off a range of display homes, but will be all-encompassing of the tiny house movement, giving insight to all the possibilities as well as a solid source of great information.

“Geelong gets the most eclectic collection of different styles of tiny houses of anywhere else in Australia. It’s not our biggest show but it certainly has got the most interesting architectural range,” Barrett said.

“At Geelong we do have a fantastic larger granny flat, a 12 metre by 4.5 metre modular house… along with the usual quite luxurious ones, down to really simplistic ones and one bus conversation.

“And we pepper that with further stalls that related to off grid living, like toilets, showers, and then there are home market stalls to give it a nice feel, they sell homewares.”

Barrett said the informational talks are always a highlight of the exhibitions.

Informational talks will cover everything about off-grid living, from how to find land, the rules and regulations, talks by small space designers and architects, financial tips, water solutions, off-grid living ideas, solar, DIY building tips and a questions and answer panel each day at 3:30pm.

The expo will take place at the Geelong Race Course from March 31 to April 2.
