Torquay’s QUAY2 estate takes out the UDIA Award for Excellence

March 31, 2022 BY

Intrapac Property's QUAY2 residential estate in Torquay has been recognised by the UDIA for excellence in the development sector.

Intrapac Property’s QUAY2 residential development in Torquay has been recognised at the 2021 Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Victoria Awards.

Launched in 1994, the Awards were created by the development industry as a vehicle to recognise excellence and innovation in the sector.

The Victorian chapter awards were delayed in 2021 due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Following a shortlisting in late 2021, QUAY2 was announced as the overall winner of the Residential Development category at the UDIA Awards for Excellence gala ceremony held at The Crown Palladium.

Senior development Manager at Intrapac Property, David Lunardi, said they have worked incredibly hard to ensure that QUAY2 was planned in step with the character of the surrounding area.

“In particular, the generous open space allocation really supports an active coastal lifestyle and integrates with the existing Deep Creek Reserve,” Mr Lunardi said.

“Personally, I am incredibly proud of the diverse housing we have provided at QUAY2.

“The large single home lots, which traditionally attract families, are complemented by high quality townhomes on smaller-footprint sites.

“The townhomes have increased the diversity of the community, providing an alternative for single parents, first home buyers and downsizers.”
UDIA judge Peter Seamer commented that QUAY2’s location is excellent, near to both services and the beach.

“The type and relaxed appearance of housing suits the Torquay lifestyle, and we were impressed by the level of detail in the development,” Mr Seamer said.

“Intrapac have created an excellent place to live.

“Finally, the fully sold-out development was well managed and highly successful financially, Intrapac are deserving winners of this award.”
QUAY2 builds upon the outstanding legacy of The Quay, recipient of an UDIA Victoria Excellence award in 2008.

QUAY2 is a certified EnviroDevelopmentTM and received prestigious environmental certifications across all six categories – Water, Energy, Materials, Ecosystems, Waste Management and Community.

Intrapac Property COO Maxwell Shifman described QUAY2 as a landmark example of its proud legacy of industry leadership, innovation and achievement.

“Each of our projects is underpinned by a clear vision and a long-term perspective,” Mr Shifman said.

“It is always extremely satisfying to receive industry acknowledgement of our commitment to delivering quality communities.”
