R4C also offers commercial and residential pickup services.

Recycle4Change (R4C) has launched its operations in Bell Park, North Geelong, significantly benefiting the Geelong community.

As a certified social enterprise and registered charity, R4C focuses on enriching the local economy by providing residents with tax-free refunds directly.

Working in collaboration with the Victorian government, R4C operates the Bell Park Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) depot. The community is encouraged to participate by returning eligible containers for a 10-cent cash refund per item, offered without vouchers but as instant cash.

Equipped with advanced automated machinery, R4C’s state-of-the-art facility can process 100 containers per minute, ensuring efficiency and convenience with ample parking. Additionally, R4C has introduced a residential container recycling bin service to bring recycling directly to residents while still offering refunds. Central to its mission, R4C is committed to environmental sustainability and community empowerment, transforming recycling into a profitable activity for individuals, educational institutions, community organisations, and businesses. Moreover, R4C provides employment opportunities to individuals impacted by the justice system or prolonged unemployment, with comprehensive employment and training programs aimed at enhancing self-esteem, family reconnection, and societal reintegration.

Chance Creators, the parent entity of R4C, has created more than 130 opportunities for returning citizens, helping to prevent an estimated $29 million in societal costs. With a seven-year track record, Chance Creators has established a global precedent in transitional employment, boasting a zero recidivism rate.

In 2023, Fruit2Work, an affiliated company of Chance Creators, was awarded the Employer of the Year at the NESA Awards for Excellence, highlighting Chance Creators’ commitment to assisting disadvantaged job seekers in finding sustainable employment.

Stuart Borg, Growth Manager at Chance Creators and General Manager at Recycle4Change, explains: “We have listened to our customers, they want to be paid in cash, we only pay in cash.

“They want a quick and easy method to recycle, we process 100 containers in a minute; no more hand-feeding them into a reverse vending machine. We offer commercial and residential pickup services, too. It could not be easier to recycle and receive a deserved refund.”
