United scores youth sponsor
GEELONG United has picked up a new major sponsor for its youth teams this season, in a deal set to boost the club’s junior development programs.
United has welcomed portfolio analytics service Navexa on board this year, with the company’s name and logo to feature on the back of club jerseys for the club’s men’s and women’s teams in the Big V Youth League One competition – the second tier of Victoria’s under-23 pathways league.
The company has signed a deal for three years as a major sponsor of the Geelong basketball sides.
The club said its new sponsorship would support its youth development up to its under-23 teams, providing more local players opportunities to play high-level basketball close to home while supporting its teams in their push towards Victoria’s top tier of youth leagues.
“We are very excited to announce our partnership with Navexa for the next three seasons,” Geelong United CEO Mark Neeld said.
“This partnership further enhances our ability to enable the development of all our athletes across the Youth League program and to help them reach their full potential.
“We would like to welcome Navarre, his team and Navexa to Geelong United Basketball.”
Navexa is a digital fintech tool that provides users with detailed, digestible information about their investments.
Its founder Navarre Trousselot said his company was excited to begin the new partnership.
“Navexa’s mission is to empower people to maximise their performance. Our sponsorship of Geelong United Basketball lines up with that mission, and we’re proud to support the players and management as they compete in the coming season,” he said.
Geelong United’s youth league season tips off next month, with Big V draws released last week.
The men’s team hosts Coburg on March 19 to start their year, while the women’s side travels to play Bulleen first up with its first home game on April 3 against Wyndham.
