Upgrades for north Geelong school
The state government funded works will include ceiling repair, drink fountain replacement, handrails repair, repainting works, revarnishing works, roof and wall works.
Lara MP Ella George said the upgrades to facilities at Northern Bay College would support students.
“Every student should have access to a great school, that’s why we’re supporting Northern Bay College with the upgrades they need for a great learning environment, that will support educational outcomes of students across the region.”
Part of the Planned Maintenance Program, the funding addresses high-priority maintenance works across Victoria’s government schools.
The program ensures schools are able to complete essential work in classrooms and other school buildings.
“This program is about ensuring that every school in Victoria is kept up to date, so that every child can access a high-quality education in a high-quality environment,” Minister for Education Ben Carroll said.
Northern Bay College is one of 88 schools around the state to receive a share in the $19.9 million funding, with 90 maintenance projects to be undertaken between them.
Over the past 10 years the state government has invested $16.9 billion in building new schools and delivering more than 2,200 upgrades.
